Three-time Olympian Alpine Skier, Megan McJames is retiring after 22 years of ski racing. She started racing with the Park City Ski Team at the age of eight. She competed in the Vancouver Games with the US Ski Team and then in the Sochi and PyeongChang Games as an independent athlete. Carolyn Murray has this:

Megan McJames made the US Ski team in 2005 and skied with the organization until 2012.  She was injured in 2011 and competed through the end of the season when she was cut in 2012 from the US Team. She says her drive to continue racing is hard to describe.

When you’re an independent Alpine Ski Racer and not affiliated with the US Ski Team, you have to find other ways to finance your dream.  There’s a fund raiser this Friday and a local athlete is hoping to raise money to compete in the Peyong Chang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.  Carolyn Murray has more:

Now two-thirds of the way through the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, victories and defeats, sunshine and snow have all been logged in Sochi as the USSA's Tom Kelly gives his weekly update.

Park City alpine ski racer Megan McJames has been named to the U.S. Olympic team after competing without the help of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. KPCW's Leslie Thatcher reports.

Park City native and local ski racer Megan McJames is on the final push to try to make it to the Sochi Olympics, and she needs the community's help to get there. Lynn Ware Peek has more.

Megan McJames's Race to Sochi Benefit is Saturday, September 28, from 6:00-9:00 PM, 335 McHenry Rd in lower Deer Valley.

Of the hundreds of kids in Park City who start ski racing at a young age, only a selective few will make it to compete at an international level.  One of those is Megan McJames.  Lynn Ware Peek has more.
