Park City Mountain Resort’s parent company took a big step in its goal to reach 100% renewable electricity usage by 2030.  

Vail Resorts announced Wednesday morning that the Plum Creek Wind Project, based in Nebraska has gone online. Vail has agreed to purchase 310,000 megawatt hours of wind energy annually from the project, which will address more than 90% of the company's current electric usage in its North American resorts. 

Mountain Towns 2030

Park City is welcoming as many as 40 mountain towns in early October for the first ever Mountain Towns 2030 Net Zero Summit.

This summit is a 3-day conference for invited leaders from mountain community governments, National Governing Organization’s as well as climate-oriented businesses from across the U.S.

Mountain Towns 2030

Park City is set to host the Mountain Towns 2030 Net Zero Summit in October with some 40 mountain towns attending.

This three-day event  is being planned by Park City’s Sustainability Team. Team Manager Luke Cartin has invited  mayors and officials from several large and small mountain communities along with business leaders and other who are committed to bold climate action. He’s hopeful,his informal group will share their successes and look for future collaborations.
