All Smiths locations, including Kimball Junction and Heber City will again be accepting Visa credit cards starting immediately.

A small banner on the Smiths website announced the change reading that the chain “now accept(s) Visa credit cards,”

The Salt Lake headquartered Smiths, a division of Kroger, announced in March of this year that they would no longer accept Visa credit cards starting on April 3rd. The reason the company gave at the time was because of excessive interchange and network fees that Visa and it’s issuing banks had charged retailers.

All Smiths locations, including Kimball Junction and Heber City will stop accepting Visa credit cards next month.

The Salt Lake headquartered Smiths, a division of Kroger, announced that they will no longer accept Visa credit cards starting on April 3rd. Smith’s spokeswoman Aubriana Martindale clarified that all other current forms of payment, including Visa debit cards, will continue to be accepted.

Smith’s Food and Drug Stores announced plans to phase out single-use plastic bags in all of their stores by the year 2025.

All Smith’s locations, including Kimball Junction and Heber City will switch to reusable bags.

The Salt Lake Headquartered Smiths, a division of Kroger, says they plan to solicit customer feedback and work with NGO’s and community partners to ensure a responsible transition.

Wallet Stolen While Customer Shops For Groceries

A Park City resident shopping at the Kimball Junction Smith's Grocery Store, had her wallet stolen from her purse while she shopped for produce.  It happened on May 8th about 12:30 pm.  Carolyn Murray has more on this:
