The Summit County Council and the Snyderville Basin Recreation District announced Tuesday that they have reached an agreement to acquire 461 acreas near the U.S. Highway 40 frontage road, and intends to keep most of the property as open space.  Rick Brough reports:

A recent public open house  unveiled a dozen options for new recreational facilities in the City and County. Now, the recreation experts will continue to evaluate and vet the various options for new playing fields, possible aquatics facilities, field houses and parks.  Lynn Ware Peek has more. 

For the last seven years, Rena Jordan has led the Snyderville Basin Recreation District. She has now accepted a new job and her final day with Basin Rec was last Friday. Leslie Thatcher has more.
