teacher grants

The Park City Education Foundation is making changes in their teacher grants program. They raise money in the community to support their vision to launch well prepared, curiosity driven, creative, citizens of the world. They funnel the money they raise to support teacher projects that would otherwise not be possible to sustain. This year, they selected 22 of 50 teacher grant submissions.

In 1986, the Park City Education Foundation was formed as a way to funnel privately raised funds to Park City teachers for needs that were otherwise unfunded. Since then more than $10.5 million has been raised – about $75,000 of that from this year. 32 years later, the teacher grants are still being funded. KPCW’s Leslie Thatcher has more.

The Park City Education Foundation teacher grants have just been awarded as as a result, Park City school kids will get to learn from some innovative new programs those grants will allow. Lynn Ware Peek has more.
