Wasatch County Planning Commission spent four hours at their June 4th meeting discussing a request from Heber Light and Power and Rocky Mountain Power for a conditional use permit to rebuild and extend a transmission line and build a 10-acre substation. In the end the item was continued to the commissions July 11th meeting to allow more discussion and information regarding the substation.

Around 50 people attended the commission meeting, most in the audience were citizens opposed to the plans.

Wasatch County

Both Heber City Council and Wasatch County Planning Commission meet Tuesday evening. The bodies will discuss the eastern bypass, the fiscal year budget and power lines in the valley.

Heber City Council meets Tuesday evening starting at 4:30 pm at the Heber Tabernacle located at 75 North Main St.

The first item on the agenda is a public hearing regarding the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 budget. Council will also consider approving both the Beehive and VXC annexations.

Utah Court Of Appeals Rules In Favor Of Wasatch County

Earlier this month, the Utah Court of Appeals set aside an order by the state’s Utility Facility Review Board in favor of Wasatch County’s statutory authority to protect ridgeline view corridors as outlined in the county code.  Carolyn Murray has this:
