School Board Set to Approve New Communications Director

The Park City School Board meets Tuesday at 4 pm with a full agenda.  A Strategic Planning presentation kicks it off and they’re expected to approve hiring a Communications Director who will manage messaging for the school district.

The Park City Board of Education voted down running a school bond on November’s ballot.  The motion left any future bond date nebulous.   A small number of the public attended and several gave input.  Carolyn Murray has more on this:

The Park City School District Superintendent has made a recommendation to the school board to hold off on running a 100 million dollar bond on November’s ballot.  The meeting to finalize this decision is Tuesday.  Carolyn Murray has more. 

Teen Council Teaches Teens about Teenage Issues

The fourth year of the Planned Parenthood Teen Council kicks off with a student retreat next month.  The students, once trained in this program, become a resource for other young people who want information about reproductive health, contraception and healthy relationships. Park City Rotary Gives $125,000 to Local Youth Causes

The Park City Rotary gave 125,000 dollars to three local youth oriented non-profits.  The method was unique for the Rotary because their grants are usually smaller and distributed to diverse causes.  Carolyn Murray has more on this.

Park City School District

Park City Board of Education meets in a special regular session on Tuesday at 4 o’clock.  Top on the agenda  is making a decision on the hiring of a new Trailside Elementary Principal.  They’re also hoping to finalize a schedule for a “listening tour” to gather public input on the proposed capital school bond.  Carolyn Murray has more:

Tuesday, the board of Education heard the results from the School Bond Survey.  Based on that information, the board may take a pause in pursuing a capital school bond this November.  Carolyn Murray was at that meeting and has this report:

The School Board meets Tuesday afternoon to vote on new hiring recommendations.  A new Assistant Superintendent is expected to be approved along with Compensation Agreements for District Administrative personnel.
