Wasatch County Has First Resident Death Due To COVID-19

Officials at the Wasatch County Health Department report the first death of a county resident from COVID-19. The patient, a male in his 60’s with other underlying health issues, passed away in a Salt Lake area hospital after combating the virus for 9 days.  

 “We would like to offer sincere condolences at this time”, said Randall Probst, County Health Director. “Our community here in Wasatch County is like family and we are very saddened to lose one of our residents.” 

Wasatch County has had 96 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of those cases five have been hospitalized. Wasatch County has the second highest number of cases per capita, behind Summit County.
