Monday COVID-19 Update: Utah Sees 584 New Cases, Lowest Daily Count Since Mid-September

Utah saw its lowest daily COVID-19 case count since mid-September Monday.

 

 

The Utah Department of Health announced 584 new COVID-19 cases Monday. The last time daily cases were this low was Sept. 14. 

While there were less cases, only 3,516 new tests were administered. The statewide 7-day rolling average for positive tests is around 17%.

Summit County reported 6 new cases, which is the lowest daily increase in the county since late September.

Wasatch County reported 16 new cases. In comparison last Monday, the county saw 10.  

Utah’s Department of Health reported three new deaths. To date, 1,668 Utahns have died due to COVID-19, including seven from Summit County and 16 from Wasatch County.

Utah’s Department of Health reported 47 new hospitalizations. There are 402people in the hospital for COVID-19, in the state. Statewide, around 82% of referral center ICU beds are in use. 

1,093 people were vaccinated for COVID-19 since Sunday, bringing the total number to 311,785 doses administered. Both Summit and Wasatch Counties are registering to vaccinate residents 70-years or older.
