The Utah State Tax Commission has issued a ruling overturning a Summit County tax assessment against Summit Water of more than $800,000. The ruling comes after a 15-year dispute between the county and private water company over property taxes on its water system. However, the Tax Commission did rule that the county could collect taxes for a five year period up to 2010 on equipment in Summit's water treatment plant near Jeremy Ranch. Rick Brough has more.
