Recycle Utah Ready To Accept Styrofoam Products Again

Director of Recycle Utah Carolyn Wawra is happy to announce that the center is now able to recycle styrofoam again.

Wawra says that they had issues with the machine. Styrofoam is one of the more expensive items to process at the center.

The type of styrofoam that holds food does not work with their machine.

“It’s a different kind of material that’s meant to handle heat like a hot coffee cup, and it’s not processible with us” Explains Wawra “Try bringing your own coffee cup or even to-go-box when you go out to eat.”

Recycle Utah is having their Dumpster Day June 28-30 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event saves residents a trip to the dumpster as two large bins will be placed on Woodbine Way for garbage and yard waste.

Also, on June 28 Recycle Utah has their 7th annual Uncorked outdoor concert at the recycling center from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.

Tickets are $7 at the door and will help fund glass recycling collection programs at Recycle Utah.

More information about both events can be found at Recycle Utah dot org.
