Midway City

Midway and Heber City Councils meet Tuesday evening. Among items on the Midway’s agenda include a business grant request from Zermatt Resort and continued discussion on possible Master Plan amendments to Remund Farms.

Midway City Council meets in council chambers at the Midway Community Center Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm. One item returning to the agenda is a discussion about Watts Remund Farms. The 50-acre, 96-unit development’s Master Plan was approved previously, but now the projects developers are asking for some changes to the Master Plan. Proposed changes include adding a private backyard area to 37 units and splitting the phasing of the project from three phases to six.

Additionally, at the Tuesday meeting Zermatt Resort is requesting a business growth grant. The Zermatt reports that their efforts to attract out of town ski groups has been very successful and that those groups who stay an average of 5-6 nights spend more money in Midway than most resort visitors. The resort is asking the city for $30,000 in funding to obtain tools to help the Zermatt continue their efforts.

City council will also discuss and possibly approve an agreement with the Midway Boosters to manage the Midway City Ice rink for the 2019-2020 season.

Heber City Council also meets Tuesday evening in council chambers. Action items on Heber’s agenda include discussing issue related to the proposed Sorenson Annexation and finalizing committee members for the airport master plan update.
