Park City High School's boys hockey team won the state championship Monday night.
The Miners defeated Farmington High School's hockey team at the Steiner Ice Center in Salt Lake City. The score was 5-1. Park City senior Connor Schulz scores 3 points for the Miners. Seniors Scott Burnette and Ryan Jeffrey also scored for the Miners.
Park City High School entered the Utah division 1 affiliated state tournament with 18 wins and one loss on the season. The lone loss was to the UCI Warriors, a team made up of several schools in northern Utah County.
The Miners marched through the playoffs defeating Skyline High 11-0, Brighton High 5-3 and Farmington High 4-0. The Miners played Farmington High School Monday night again, as the Phoenixes worked their way back through the bracket.
This was the Miner’s fourth matchup with the Phoenixes, with the Miners winning the first three matchups of the year.
