UPDATE: Missing 6-Year-Old Girl Found After Amber Alert

Summit County Sheriff's Office

An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday afternoon for a missing 6-year-old girl. She was found safe early Tuesday evening.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office issued an Amber Alert on Tuesday afternoon for 6-year-old Chanzi Delgado. The Sheriff’s department says Delgado was intentionally taken from her mother by her estranged father, Mark Anthony Delgado.

According to the alert, Mr. Delgado left a Summit County residence at approximately 8:00am Tuesday morning. The Sheriff’s office says Mr. Delgado claimed he was running errands with the child but never returned. Mr. Delgato does not have legal custody of the child.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the child’s mother received a Facebook message from Mr. Delgado that stated he was taking the child to Los Angeles as retribution for not seeing the child for the past four years.

The Sheriff’s Office tweeted just after 4:30pm Tuesday, “Chanzi has been located in Taylorsville and the father is in custody.”
