The person who has guided Summit County’s Green initiatives in recent years is retiring.

Sustainability Coordinator Lisa Yoder will be departing at the end of the year.   County Manager Tom Fisher said she is leaving some big shoes to fill.   He said she did a lot to advance the county’s climate goals.

“Most notable is the fact that we’re moving quickly towards having all of our government operations powered by renewable energy.  That’s a big swath, or a big swing at meeting our climate goals for the future.  She’s been instrumental in negotiating all that, or being part of the negotiations with our attorney’s office and Rocky Mountain Power and the legislature, and getting legislation changed in order to make all that happen.  We wouldn’t have been able to do that without her.”
