Snyderville Basin Special Recreation District

The Snyderville Recreation District has announced that their new Director is a veteran of nearly 30 years with state parks in California.

The Summit County Council on Wednesday approved the employment contract for Dana Jones, who was chosen by the Recreation Board after a nation-wide search.    She will officially join Basin Recreation on December 14th.

In a press statement, the District said that Jones began a 28-year career with California State Parks as a Park Ranger.    After working in a variety of locations around the state, she ultimately became the Northern Division Chief of Operations, responsible for nearly 200 parks.

After an early retirement and traveling, she came back as a consultant for a Parks and Rec District.   She has raised a son as a single parent, and her spare time is devoted to photography, swimming, hiking and biking.

Jones said she looks forward to a new chapter in Utah, and added, “There is a pattern that has been consistent throughout my life and work; I start at the beginning, immerse myself in learning, and strive to become the best at what I am doing.”
