Downtown Park City Liquor Store To Temporarily Close

KPCW News

The Swede Alley Liquor Store in downtown Park City will close temporarily starting January 19. The store will be closed for a few weeks, according to a press release from the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The liquor store on Snowcreek Drive and the one in Kimball Junction will stay open. Restaurants and bars can still get alcohol from the “Club Store.”

The location will be closing due to a staffing shortage. The DABC says the downtown location is not the only one facing a staffing shortage, stores across the state have been understaffed since the beginning of the pandemic.

Employees of the Swede Alley location will be reassigned to the liquor store on Snowcreek Drive in Park City.

It is unclear when exactly the Swede Alley location will reopen. The DABC says they are looking for “creative solutions” to fully restaff and open the location.

This story is developing, and KPCW will have more details as they become available.
