Several weeks ago John Wells was a passenger on the Seabourn Quest, a state of the art cruise ship that called on ports in the North Sea. While onboard John had the opportunity to tour the bridge, meet the officers and sit down for a conversation with the Captain of the Seabourn Quest, Bjarne Larsen. Our first segment is a taped interview of that conversation about the technology of the Quest and a life at sea for Captain Larsen. Our 2nd guest this morning is Dr. Andrew Shapiro the manager of Early Stage Innovation for the Space Technology Office at the California Institute of Technology, Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he is currently responsible for several technology tasks for potential Europa lander missions.
