We Continue our series about the 2019 Binational Journey for artists of Mexican ancestry based in the United States by The Mexican Government organization IME (Institute for Mexicans in the Exterior) where they invited 43 artists representing 36 states in the U.S.
Patricia Cavazos was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and migrated to the U.S. after getting married. She started her professional career as an architect, but soon realized that her passions was in creating art. She draws inspiration from traditional Mexican imagery, culture, and aesthetics in an attempt to modernize and bring her own take on these themes.
Patricia was selected among 43 others and attended a conference in Mexico City in 2019 where they all met with government officials and had a chance to sample some of the amazing artwork and history that Mexico City offers, including over 150 museums, historical sites, and much more.

Patricia Cavazos nació en Monterrey, México y se mudó a Estados Unidos después de casarse. Comenzó su vida profesional como arquitecta, pero pronto se dió cuenta que su pasión estába en el crear arte. Ella toma inspiración de las imagenes, cultura, y astética tradicional Mexicana con el fin de modernizar y brindar su propia interpretación de estos temas.
Patricia fué seleccionada de entre 43 artistas quienes acudieron una conferencia donde conocieron a oficiales del gobierno de México, y la oportunidad de probar un poco del asombroso arte que ofrece la ciudad de México, incluyendo a mas de 150 museos, sitios historicos, y mucho más.
