Cada Domingo - Jesús Tóro Martinez

We Continue our series about the 2019 Binational Journey for artists of Mexican ancestry based in the United States by The Mexican Government organization IME (Institute for Mexicans in the Exterior) where they invited 43 artists representing 36 states in the U.S. 

As the pandemic continues, many artists have found themselves with all new challenges, many having to completely reinvent themselves, and the way their art mainfests. Jesús Tóro Martínez, Artist and participant in the Binational conference joins us to talk about how he began his artistic expression, his use of found objects, and how he has found himself changing during the pandemic to keep his important art alive. We also discuss the challenges of making a life as an artist in a post-COVID quarantine, and navigating the "new normal" in this climate. 

Jesús was selected among 43 others and attended a conference in Mexico City in 2019 where they all met with government officials and had a chance to sample some of the amazing artwork and history that Mexico City offers, including over 150 museums, historical sites, and much more.

Continuamos nuestra serie de entrevistas de la reciente Jornada Binacional para artistas de origen Mexicano en Estados Unidos por El Instituto de los Mexicanos en el Exterior (IME) donde invitaron a 43 artistas de origen Mexicano viviendo en 36 diferentes estados en Estados Unidos. 

Mientras que la pandemia continúa, múchos artistas se enfrentan con nuevos reto, muchos teniendo que reinventarse completamente, y la manera que su arte se manifiesta. Artista Jesús Tóro Martínez y participante con la Jornada Binacional nos acompaña para hablar de sus inicios en su expresión artistica, el uso de objetos encontrados, y de cómo el há cambiado durante la pandemia para mantener este a su importante arte vivo. También discutimos los retos de hacer una vida como artista después de la cuarentena del COVID-19, y el navegar el "nuevo normal" en este clima. 

Jesús fué seleccionado de entre 43 artistas quienes acudieron una conferencia donde conocieron a oficiales del gobierno de México, y la oportunidad de probar un poco del asombroso arte que ofrece la ciudad de México, incluyendo a mas de 150 museos, sitios historicos,  y mucho más.
