It was a close vote. Initial results show Park City ski patrollers will join a union.
Below is an excerpt from an email sent to Park City ski patrollers Monday evening:
"Today, you were given an opportunity to vote on whether or not the Park City Ski Patrol Team would be represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA). Preliminary results show that employees voted 97 to 94 for representation. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has a process to officially certify the results. As soon as the process is complete, we will let you know."
A National Labor Relations Board representative was on hand to witness the voting. It could take up to 7 days for the NLRB to certify the election results.
