Kimball Art Center Selects New Leader

Leslie Thatcher

The Kimball Art Center Board of Directors has named Lindsie Smith as its new Executive Director, replacing Robin Marrouche who stepped down earlier this year.

Lindsie Smith as most recently served as the Associate Director of Clark Planetarium where she managed the day to day operations, mentored staff and served as the organization’s spokesperson.  At the Kimball, she was hired to lead the organization as it continues to inspire and connect the Utah community through art. Her first day will be Monday, July 10, 2017.

Smith has also served in positions for Zion’s Bank and Fidelity Investments and also served as the Director of Communications for Junior Achievement of Utah before moving on to Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum.

She has broad nonprofit experience ranging from programmatic strategy to audience development and board relations.

In a prepared statement, Smith said she’s thrilled to join the Kimball Art Center and looks forward to continuing the legacy of excellence.

Her first hurdle will be getting through next month’s largest fundraiser for the Kimball – the 3 day arts festival.

Kimball Art Center Board Chair, Maggie AbuHaidar said the board is thrilled that Smith is on board, noting that her accomplishments in the nonprofit world and her local Utah connections are just what board members were hoping to find.
