PCSD's New Superintendent Released From Greenwich Contract

Jill Gildea

The Greenwich Public Schools Board of Education has picked a veteran employee to lead their district while it searches for their next superintendent, allowing Dr. Jill Gildea to make the move to her new position here in Park City.

According to the Greenwich schools website, the school board on Thursday voted unanimously to appoint their middle school principal Ralph Mayo as interim superintendent. He will replace Dr. Gildea, who announced to the board last month that she was leaving for Park City after serving just one year of her three year contract.

Mayo assumes the role of interim schools chief July 28. The Greenwich school board on Thursday also agreed to terms of Gildea’s contract termination. She will spend time in Greenwich helping Mayo transition into the job. In a statement from the school Board, Gildea agreed to be available after the conclusion of her contract to support the transition throughout the summer and into the next school year.

Gildea is expected to start her new job as Park City  superintendent  August 1st.  She was hired by the Greenwich district in March 2017 for a three-year term that began last July 1st Her husband was transferred to Utah early last year, which is why she sought the job here in Park City.
