For the second day in a row, rain has helped curtail the Dollar Ridge Fire.
The Dollar Ridge Fire has burned 52,000 acres in Wasatch and Duchesne counties, during the past 10 days. Some rain fall Sunday and Monday gave fire fighters an opportunity to suppress the fire.
Containment of the fire jumped to 35% on Sunday at the end of the day on Monday containment was at 45%.
Highway 40 is now open although U-DOT asks that drivers slow down, to 35 mph near milepost 50 and keep traffic flowing.
Nearly 900 personnel are working to extinguish the fire. An estimated containment date is July 20th.
The fire started on private property the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands says the fire was human caused.
