Summit County deputies last week arrested two men, allegedly intoxicated, who were accosting slow-moving semi-truck traffic on Interstate 80, and claiming they were Youtubers.
Deputies responded on August 9th to a call from Parley's Summit. Lt. Andrew Wright said that due to a motorcycle accident, traffic had been narrowed to one lane and it was moving slowly.
They had a report that two males were in the roadway, banging on semi-truck doors or climbing on their trailers.
According to Lt. Wright, the two men said they were filming videos for YouTube--evidently, some kind of daredevil presentation.
One of those detained was identified as 41-year-old Gregory Jay Hall of West Jordan, who gave a false name and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Officers impounded a car belonging to the other male and found a bag with Hall's driver's license and capsules that tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine.
Hall was arrested. The County Attorney's office has charged him with Possession or Use of a Controlled Substance, Intoxication, giving False Personal Information to a Peace Officer and Disorderly Conduct.
The second man, 25-year-old Camden Case of Salt Lake, was arrested for Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.
