Driver Flees Scene Of Multiple Crashes In Coalville

A car crash on Coalville’s Main Street occurred when a man suspected of being under the influence of drugs and or alcohol ran into the back end of a parked car, attempted to flee and crashed into a second vehicle. Carolyn Murray has this.

Wyatt Brierley was seen driving south on Coalville’s Main Street at 11:09 PM on Sunday. Witnesses say they heard a loud crash and saw Brierley in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. He was said to be traveling at a high rate of speed. He tried to drive away from the accident and crashed into a second car and then left the scene on foot. A passenger in Brierley’s car also exited the vehicle but collapsed immediately. He was taken to a with multiple injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate Brierley shortly after he fled the second crash. He was first taken to the hospital and was checked out. He was then booked into the Summit County Jail

Brierely’s vehicle was searched and deputies found drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was impounded by the state.  He has been charged with DUI, serious bodily injury, Leaving the scene and possessing drug paraphernalia.
