Treasure Hill Bond Passes

Park City Municipal

With a vote of 77% for and 23% against, the Park City Open Space Bond has passed.  Preliminary election results from the Summit County Clerk's office show 2,839 Park City residents voted for the issuance of the bond and 836 voted against.

$45 million of the $48 million-dollar bond will go towards buying out the Treasure Hill development. The proposed project has been discussed and debated for more than three decades.

Three-million-dollars will go towards preserving the Snow Ranch Pastures agricultural land owned by the Armstrong family located at the base of Thaynes Canyon.

The Park City Municipal Government Twitter account posted after the votes were in:  "Voters have spoken - unofficial results are in and we are proud to bring closure to an almost 30-year community journey.  Treasure Hill and Armstrong/Snow Ranch Pasture open space bond passed... The land will remain permanently protected from development."

Tune in tomorrow morning to the Local News Hour with Leslie Thatcher to hear from Park City Mayor Andy Beerman.
