Coronavirus Impacts Recycling Too

Recycle Utah

Recycle Utah is scaling back its operations  due to the coronavirus emergency.  The recycling facility on Woodbine Way is operating, for now, on very limited hours.

Recycle Utah Director Carolyn Wawra said with the current COVID-19 outbreak, they’re concerned about the health of their staff—at a facility that can see 400 cars a day.

Wawra is asking locals to hold onto their recyclables at home. If they really need to visit the center, it will be open overnight from 5:30 p.m.  to 8 a.m. Wawra is hoping visitors will dispose of their recycling properly.   If not, they will have to close the facility entirely.

She asks that citizens don’t bring  in electronics for now. No one will be there to collect the charge for depositing them.

Wawra said there are satellite bins for collecting glass—at the Ecker Hill Park and Ride, Willow Creek Park, at Triumph near Home Depot, and Summit Park.
