The resort may be closed to skiers but there’s been a lot of activity at Deer Valley Resort including a snowmobile accident that resulted in injuries.
Deer Valley Senior Communications Manager Emily Summers says the snowmobile accident happened about 3 P.M on Tuesday. Two employees were hurt when the snowmobile they were on hit a tree. They were taken to the hospital, one by helicopter and one by ground ambulance. She could not provide further information.
Park City Fire District Public Information officer Tricia Hazelrigg says Deer Valley Ski Patrol responded to the emergency.
“A couple of our guys, I don’t think they actually went to the scene where the accident occurred, but they met ski patrol on the hill and facilitated some help there and then one patient was brought to us via snowmobile on a sled and that person was transported and then another individual was flown.”
KPCW received reports of blasting on Tuesday morning and despite the mountain being closed for this ski season, ski patrollers continued avalanche control on Tuesday.

The marketing coupons which are issued to employees, she said, are part of their benefit package and are only valid for the ski season.
