There were five car break-ins reported in Downtown Park City earlier this week.

The breaks-in all happened on Tuesday night in the same geographic area, on Woodside and Empire Avenues.

Phil Kirk with the Park City Police Department said all of the cars were left unlocked and there were no signs of forced entry.

Kirk said the sheriff’s office has seen a number of break-ins. And he said it’s possible it’s one or two people responsible for the crimes. He said there’s a chance they’ll continue until they are caught.

Kirk said break-ins in this area are somewhat common. He says as things get busier during the winter season there will be more break-ins. And he suggested that people lock their cars and remove their valuables.
