One more Utah COVID-19 death was reported by the Utah Department of Health on Saturday and the Wasatch Back remained stable in their numbers of new cases.
Saturday’s lone death was identified as a Salt Lake County woman between the ages of 45 and 64 who was hospitalized at the time of her death. To date, 2,203 Utahns have died of COVID-19.
Summit and Wasatch Counties both recorded four new cases on Saturday, continuing a single-digit streak that extends back to the middle of April.
Statewide, 410 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Saturday and the rolling seven-day average for positive tests now sits at 371 per day. One week ago the average was 376.
Averages for the percentage of positive laboratory tests remained unchanged with the people-over-people average at 6.6% and the tests-over-tests average at 3.5%.
There are currently 138 Utahns in the hospital for COVID-19, seven fewer than what was reported on Friday. Statewide referral center ICUs are now 76.2% full.
19,000 more vaccine doses have been administered since Friday and 2.1 million doses have been administered in Utah so far.
Almost 20,000 people in Summit County are considered to be fully vaccinated. In Wasatch County, that number is over 10,000.
