The mountain bike, road, and track cycling teams for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics have been officially announced. Local mountain biker Haley Batten qualified for her first Olympic team.

Park City’s Haley Batten qualified for the Tokyo Games after the 22-year-old finished in second at the 2021 ICU World Cup in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic last month. The team was officially named by USA Cycling Thursday.

Batten is joined on the mountain bike team by Californian and 2018 World Champion Kate Courtney and Arizona’s Chloe Woodruff. The lone men’s spot went to Coloradan Christopher Blevins.

Park City local Keegan Swensson was also named to the Olympic “long team’” -- which is the pool of athletes the final Olympic team is chosen from -- but Swenson did not make the final cut.

The COVID-delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games are scheduled to run from July 23rd-August 8th.
