Construction on Interstate 80 over the weekend caused significant delays in the Park City area. That work is expected to resume later this month.

Westbound Interstate 80 between the US 40 interchange and Kimball Junction was reduced to one lane over the weekend and caused significant delays for motorists heading to the Salt Lake area.

All lanes are now open. I-80 will also be reduced to one lane the weekends of July 30th, August 6th, and August 13th.

The project is repairing pavement, repaving the ramps at the Silver Creek and Silver Summit interchange, as well as performing maintenance on the Kimball Junction and Silver Creek Junction bridges. According to UDOT, paving is scheduled to begin mid-August and will take place at night to minimize traffic congestion.

Road construction is expected to continue through September.
