Originally scheduled for this Friday, November 19th, the resort now says they are ”optimistically targeting” a new opening day of Tuesday, November 23rd.
Recent warm temperatures have prevented many Utah ski resorts from making the early-season snow crucial for opening day. With colder temperatures forecasted for this week, local resorts are hoping to get the snow guns firing soon.
Solitude President & COO Amber Broadaway said: “With colder temps on the way, we will be making snow at every available window. If conditions justify opening earlier than November 23, we will be ready to go.”
Park City Mountain Resort also announced it will be postponing its opening day last Friday. PCMR was also scheduled to open on the 19th.
