Florida is experiencing the worst outbreak of both blue-green algae and red tide in decades.  The fresh water, blue green variety is impacting lakes, rivers, canals and wetlands throughout south Florida, while the salt water based red tide is impacting shorelines along the states southwest coast.  Today, Chris and Nell speak with Dr. Timothy Davis, an expert in the science of plankton ecology and what’s behind this biological one – two punch that is killing Florida’s marine life and harming humans as well.
