First Segment (Aired Janurary 9, 2020):

The Joy of Movement is Dr. Kelly McGonigal's new book; it's a 'love letter' to movement and exploration of what is most human about us. Through her trademark blend of science and storytelling, McGonigal draws on insights from neuroscience, psychology, anthropology, and evolutionary biology, to clear up some common misconceptions about the brain on exercise.

Along the way, Dr. McGonigal tells the stories of incredible examples of how movement can change your life, from Tanzania, where one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes on the planet live, to a dance class at Juilliard for people with Parkinson's disease.

Second Segment (Aired August 15, 2019):

Cool Science Radio speaks with Park City resident Chris Fischer, founder and expedition leader for OCEARCH. Fischer’s company is a recognized world leader in generating critical scientific data related to tracking and studying great white sharks. OCEARCH has returned to Nantucket with its team of collaborating scientists for their 35th expedition. Chris joins us from the OCEARCH research vessel off the coast of Nantucket.
