Wasatch Back residents are invited to the annual Christmas Festival for the Children. The event benefits the Wasatch County Children’s Justice Center.

Today and tomorrow at the Wasatch County Events Center, Heber valley residents will gather for the annual Christmas Festival for the Children. Heber City Mayor Kelleen Potter says the event will include gingerbread houses for silent auction.

“Some are incredible. There’s always one made by the inmates at the jail. It’s phenomenal the things that people can do with gingerbread and frosting and candy. So it’s worth coming to see.”

In addition, there’ll be vendor booths, entertainment, and a visit from Santa.

“People can come and see all of the gingerbread houses.” Mayor Potter said, “This is a benefit for the Children’s Justice Center, so people will purchase those. They’re auctioned off and that money goes to benefit the Children’s Justice Center. There’s entertainment, my daughter’s actually clogging, and there’s a bunch of other entertainment. Some Christmas trees, whatever people donate those will all be auctioned off, and then there’s some little vendors there as well. It’s a fun event.”

Entrance to the event is free, hours are from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm today and 10:00 am to 6:00 pm tomorrow, with Santa coming at 2:00.
