Lucky Ones coffee shop is celebrating its one-year anniversary.

Lucky Ones Coffee is located in the lobby of the Park City Library. The shop, which employs members of the community with disabilities is celebrating its one-year anniversary on Saturday. Co-founder Katie Holyfield says the whole staff is excited for the celebration.

“We thought no better way than to celebrate with this amazing supportive community, so we have a lot of fun, free, community events going on all day long. We’ll have the paint mixer coming in the morning at 10:30. They’ll be coming in to help everyone unleash their inner-artists. In the afternoon we’ll be doing some karaoke from 12 to 1. Followed up by that we’ll have the shop yoga studio. Randy the yoga instructor will be coming over and we’re going to clear the furniture out and do some free yoga in the coffee shop. At 3:00 pm we’ll be doing some trivia and all day long we’ll be having some drink specials. We have a couple of happy hours so from 9-11, and from 3-5 we’ll be doing half priced drinks and $2 hot chocolates all day long just kind of as a celebration.”

Holyfield says that the shop has given opportunities for many members of the community to grow.

“Even some of the people that when we first hired on, we kind of new going in that we would need a little more hands-on with, have come out and really surprised us. Tommy, one of our employees, when he first started the opportunity, he had in the past was one hour once a week, was what he was working. His mom thought max would be three or four. Over Sundance he worked 46.6 hours for us and loved it. If he could have that schedule every single week that would be Tommy’s ideal schedule.”

Lucky Ones will be open during their normal hours from 8-5. For a link to the full schedule of events you can visit here.
