The Park City Building Department is rolling out new software to streamline its permitting process.
Starting June 3, the Building Department will go paperless for its review and permitting process. Chief Building Official Dave Thacker says the software is geared toward all customers—big developers and homeowners alike.
Currently, construction permitting is done by paper and pencil. The new software will be used to issue all building and fire permits for the City.
The launch of the software will also allow customers to pay permitting fees online by credit card. Under the current system, only fees under $1,500 could be paid by credit card. To keep costs low for the City, however, the City Council on Thursday approved a new 2% credit card service fee for transactions $5,000 and greater. If customers want to avoid the service fee, they’ll still have the option to pay with a debit card, check or cash.
The City will host training sessions for the new software on Wednesday, May 22; one at 10 a.m. and one at 1 p.m. at the Community Room in the Park City Library.
