Those hoping to hit a bucket of balls at the Park City Golf Course might have to wait a few more weeks.
The Park City Golf Course is open for the season but construction of the new 3Kings Water Treatment Plant have impacted the course. Nate Roberts assistant at the course explains that as a result the driving range is closed.
“Closed till probably the middle of June," Roberts explained. "We’ve got some nets coming in around the 8th and then they’ll install and we’re going to be hitting into a net for the summer. The net will be installed in front of the driving range, so you won’t actually be able to see tons of your ball flight, but you’ll at least be able to still work on your swing and warm up out there. It’s not permanent but until they get the construction done obviously safety is most important.”
Patrons pay $5 for a small bucket of balls and $10 for a large. The lost revenue might impact the course in the short term but as part of the creation of the plant the course will also have a new maintenance building constructed.
“It’s definitely going to affect us a bit," Roberts said. "Like I said it’s not permanent and the water treatment plan needs to go in. So, we’re doing the best we can to help provide customer service for everybody. Minus the weather the course is shaping up in great shape. We just need the snow to go away so we can get out there.”
The course clubhouse is located near the intersection of Thaynes Canyon Drive and Park Avenue.
