Local law enforcement reports a relatively quiet night on New Years Eve in the Wasatch Back.

In Summit County, the sheriff’s department reported no DUI arrests were made in the county by the sheriff’s department, Park City Police or Utah Highway Patrol on New Year’s Eve or early morning New Years Day.

Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Wright said the department is grateful not to have any incidences of drunk driving or crashes. He says they always encourage drivers to plan ahead when choosing to drink alcohol and use a ride share, transportation company, or simply have a designated driver.

In addition to zero DUI arrests in Summit County, Wasatch County also reported no DUI arrests on New Years Eve. Heber City Police did arrest two individuals for DUI over the holidays.
