Utah’s Department of Health Reported 3,197 new COVID-19 cases Sunday.
The 7-day rolling average of new cases is now 3,310 per day. This time last week the state’s 7-day average was 2,985.
Summit County saw 20 new cases, and last Sunday - for comparison - Summit reported 31 new infections.
And in Wasatch County, the health department reported 46 new cases, last Sunday the county saw 32.
Summit County’s seven-day average of positive laboratory tests is currently around 14%, and about 26% of tests are coming back positive in Wasatch County. The percent for positive test results in the state is 23.5%. Only a month ago, the state’s average of positive tests was 15.5%.
Utah’s Department of Health reported 74 new hospitalizations Sunday. There are 556 people in the hospital for COVID-19, in the state. This time last week there were 484 people hospitalized.
The state reported six new deaths — there have been 792 COVID-19 related deaths since the start of the pandemic. Wasatch County reported two new deaths last week. And Summit County reported three new deaths last week. Since the start of the pandemic, Summit County has seen four COVID-19 related deaths and Wasatch County has reported 12.
Under new health orders from Governor Gary Herbert, masks are required statewide indefinitely and all social gatherings between different households are off limits until Monday, Nov. 23.
