Jill Abramson is the author of Merchants of Truth: The Business of News and the Fight for Facts. In her book, she works hard to explain the disruption of the news media over the past decade, and the erosion of trust in the country. She started as a reporter in the era of Watergate. At the New York Times, she held senior editorial positions, the first woman to serve as Washington bureau chief, then managing editor and executive editor. A senior lecturer at Harvard University, she writes a column about U.S. politics for The Guardian.
