Park City will attempt to break the world record for the longest shot ski in October and tickets are now on sale.
In its 10th year, Park City Sunrise Rotary’s shot ski will raise a glass to support local grant programs with an $86,000 goal.
The rotary club needs 1,430 people to line Main Street to break the record set by Breckenridge, Colorado. Last December 1,420 people joined in at the Ullr Festival.
Park City and Breckenridge have a longstanding rivalry to see who can claim the record.
This year, Parkites can help by donating old skis. They must be longer than 175 centimeters.
The skis must have a smooth surface and cannot have twin tips or long rocker tips. Narrow race and cross country skis will not be accepted.
To donate skis, email Mike Luers at MLuers@SBWRD-UT.gov.
The 10th annual Park City Sunrise Shot Ski is Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. on Main Street. Tickets are available online.
