Dena Stewart has dense breasts. Turns out that half the population of women do as well. Her determination to not take no for an answer from her doctor turned one routine mammogram into an MRI and early detection that saved her life.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Those statistics are staggering. But with early detection and better treatments, better outcomes have risen over the years. Andrea Buchanan sat down with Dena Stewart, a dear friend of hers, who wants women to know what to do if they have dense breasts and how one test can mean the difference between early detection and advanced disease.
