Andrea Buchanan goes Behind the Voices with KPCW weekend DJ Jolene Croasmun, whose path to the airwaves began with a love of radio growing up in Pittsburgh and eventually led her to KPCW.
Jolene shares how she became a volunteer DJ more than eight years ago after meeting John Burdick at a job fair, and how her radio career has since expanded to include hosting roles at both KPCW and KUER. She talks about covering everything from music and lost-and-found announcements to weather, traffic, wildfires and breaking news.
Through it all, Jolene says community radio is about serving and connecting with listeners. She reflects on memorable moments behind the mic, the importance of listener participation and why KPCW continues to feel like home.
