Burned slash piles start to peter out in Lambs Canyon Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023.

Prescribed burns are scheduled to continue through the week in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.

Crews have treated a total of 245 acres of forest near the Mirror Lake Highway and above the Yellow Pine Campground.

Smoke from the burns, which are located about 10 miles east of Kamas, may drift into populated areas.

Residents are asked not to report the smoke while the burns continue.
