Heber Valley has a few events on Wednesday including a visit from Representative John Curtis and a presentation of the Envision Heber 2050 project.

Utah Congressman John Curtis will be visiting Heber City on Wednesday evening. The state’s third congressional district representative will hold his townhall meeting from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at the Heber City Police Department located at 301 S Main Street. Curtis, who represents Wasatch County, will speak on current issues and take questions from the audience.

Although the townhall meeting will only last an hour, Representative Curtis will still be available to the public as he makes his way to the Community Vision Presentation as part of the Envision Heber 2050 project.

The Community Vision Presentation starts at 6:00 pm at Heber Valley Elementary school located at 730 South, 600 West. The meeting is the third of three community events that sought public input as the city prepares to update their general plan. Christie Oostema, consultant to the project, says the event will be an unveiling of the cities vision.

“It’s a culmination of all of the work that's happened this year,” Oostema explained. “There's a ton of common ground, so we're so excited to share what that is. Then from there, we'll move from celebrating that vision right into general planning effort. So, that's the way that we implement the vision as a community.”

The schedule of the evening will include a presentation and an open house.

“We’re going to have a presentation that will begin at about 6:10,” Oostema said. “We’ll do that vision unveil the first part of the evening and then from there it's basically an open house. People will be able to circulate among, I think seven tables, and provide a lot of feedback on more detailed components of the city.”

Oostema encourages all community members to come see the finished product.

“It’s been a wonderful experience with hundreds of people involved in the effort,” Oostema continued. “I hope that all Heber residents feel free to come out to hear what we've learned and worked on together. I'd really encourage anyone who has any interest at all to get involved as we move from creating the vision into like I said general plan. Basically, implementing that vision and identifying the guide or the road map for future development in the city.”
