Halloween 2021 is officially on in Park City.
The HPCA confirmed Friday morning that festivities would return to Main Street on the 31st after 2020 events were cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
HPCA Executive Director Ginger Wicks says the organization surveyed the Main Street business community and saw strong support for bringing the events back.
“We did survey our members and merchants and overall, everybody would like to see it come back, so we’re moving forward with plans to do that,” says Wicks.
Main Street is scheduled to close at 2pm that Sunday, with trick-or-treating beginning at 3 and running until 6pm.
The HPCA says costumed dogs are welcome on the street, but there will be no dog parade.
Wicks also says Park City transit busses will be Halloween themed, and the Old Town transit center will get a spooky makeover too.
“They are going to be decorating some of the busses into what they’re calling ‘frankenbusses,’ so they’ll be decorated with a Halloween theme as well as the transit center will be decorated," she says. "It could be a fun way for guests to get up to Main Street and start the festivities.”
Park City transit will also be running enhanced bus services Halloween day.
