Its free mental health awareness night Tuesday [May 20] will focus on autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Dr. Colton Miller, an Intermountain Health psychologist, and Dr. Shawn Miller, from Heber’s Solstice Counseling and Wellness center, are teaming up for the event. Both help patients diagnosed with autism, ADHD and OCD disorders on a daily basis.
“The reason we chose those three is because they fall under a broader category of neurodivergence,” Dr. Colton Miller said on KPCW’s “Local News Hour” May 16. “Neurodivergence essentially means that it's just a different way that people's brains work. It's not bad, it's not necessarily deficient or disabled, it's just different.”
The community event is at the Blair Education Center from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 20.
